Waynesburg University invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of Undergraduate Studies. Reporting directly to the Provost, this individual will provide planning, coordination, and facilitation of academic programs and events offered by the University. The position requires the ability to manage multiple projects and function as a liaison between students, faculty and administration.

Candidates should possess an earned doctorate and demonstrate experience as an effective educator and administrator at a level consistent to qualify for tenure and academic rank.

The University is seeking an individual who embraces the ideals of Christian higher education including curriculum, pedagogy, and administration. This individual must possess strong analytical and communication skills, be highly organized, and model servant leadership.

Initial responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the administration of all undergraduate academic support programs, including, but not limited to, study abroad and off-campus opportunities for Waynesburg University students and for foreign students studying on our campus, academic advising, career services, academic counseling and educational enrichment, testing and tutoring.
  • Assist the Provost in monitoring daily operations, including, but not limited to search committees, hiring faculty and academic staff, hiring, training and supervising adjunct faculty, hearing appeals to policy, attending standing and ad hoc academic committees, representing the academic sector on non-academic committees, monitoring faculty workloads, faculty meetings, etc.
  • Represent the academic sector in the production of the Fact Book and Master Calendar.
  • Assist the Provost in the administration of faculty development opportunities and distribution of funds, and faculty evaluations.
  • Assist the Provost in the administration of academic assessment, including the creation of an annual comprehensive academic assessment report.
  • Monitor and respond appropriately to directives and regulations from all accrediting and certifying agencies, including, but not limited to, Middles States Association, Pennsylvania Department of Education, and all discipline-specific accrediting associations.
  • Assist the Provost in the effort to integrate faith into all aspects of the curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Maintain an active membership in all relevant professional associations.

The beautiful and historic Waynesburg Campus is located one hour south of Pittsburgh and is a Christian University offering undergraduate and graduate programs on the Waynesburg Campus and in three centers for graduate students in the Pittsburgh region.
